Meet the Team


  • Paul has extensive

    Paul is currently Professor of Social Intervention at the University of Birmingham. He advises the What Works Wellbeing and What Works for Children’s Social Care centres, and sits on the Cross-Whitehall Trial Advice Panel, Cabinet Office. Paul also sits on ESRC, NIHR, and WHO research panels.


  • Llorenc recieved his research training from the univerisities of Oxford and Bristol. He is a Fellow of the RSA.


  • Steven holds a background in social statistics. His research has improved the precision of statistical techniques where the availability of data is limited. This has included improving Small Area Estimation to support a more rounded and accurate understanding of the spatial distribution of poverty and inequality.

    Steven also holds extensive experience of applying multivariate statistical analyses to public policy research questions, both in the UK and internationally. This has included providing insights informing the work of UNESCO, The British Council, the Council of Europe, and the Government of Ghana.

    Steven is currently at the University of Chichester, where alongside his research he convenes undergraduate Sociology. He received his doctorate from the University of Southampton and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
